Every day, I’m working on a painting or a drawing. I often joke, “I have to draw every day, no matter what time it is…” And it’s true. Even if I’ve had to spend the day doing something else outside the house, as soon as I return home, that constant urge to create is there (because that’s really what it is). A day without drawing simply doesn’t exist for me. In fact, I wouldn’t know what to do with my life without it.
For me, the word “drawing” is actually a broad term. I often work with watercolour techniques—using water-based paint and brushes on specially made paper. My style is realistic, with attention to every tiny vein in a flower petal. This kind of painting continues to challenge me, and every day I’m grateful and delighted to be able to do it again.
